DURING THE 91ST EDITION OF PITTI FILATI FAIR, VIMAR1991 SHOWS AN ARTWORK BY FRANCESCA LOMBARDI, MADE WITH ARCHIVAL YARNS AND FROM THE NEW COLLECTION.
A TAPESTRY, A CREATURE, A FACE, AN OBJECT, THAT DOES NOT WANT TO BE ONLY DECORATIVE BUT TRIES TO TELL SOMETHING: THE MOMENT IN WHICH THE ARTIST AND THE YARN COMPANY MEET EACH OTHER.
BROWNS AND DEEP REDS COMBINED WITH PURPLES AND GREENS EVOKE VINTAGE PALETTES, NOW CHARACTERIZED BY ACID ACCENT THAT CREATE A FUZZY LANDSCAPE WHERE EVERYTHING IS ALLOWED.
The artwork evokes the theme of the Winter Collection of Vimar1991, Mirabilia. It is a world where virtual and real life are blended. A hybrid reality where all is contaminated and there are no boundaries between personal and social life, work and free time, reality, and imagination.
In this undefined situation, our creativity helps us to think different and contemporary spaces.
Starting from the thread and the possibilities it offers, the colours become shapes and weaves, masks and disguises that open a free interpretation to the imagination of the beholder. The artwork is a tapestry, a creature, a face, an object, that does not want to be only decorative but tries to tell something: the moment in which the artist and the yarn company meet each other. The yarns selected are half from the archive and half from the new collection. The combination of wefts and colours suggest a new way to enhance the importance and union between art and product.

(Livorno 1985)
Her educational path begins in the artistic field and leads to product design, she studies at the University of Florence and at the Politecnico of Milan, city where she discovers the world of theater.
She cultivated skills and passion to create manually, in learning multiple artisanal and artistic techniques; from sewing to leather beating, from origami to wood carving, up to the pure artistic form of oil painting. Since 2012 she begins artistic collaborations that bring her to the world of theater. She works in photographic projects, video clips and theatrical performances in the design and realization of costumes, masks, props, puppets, and sets.
Her works have been exhibited in Milan, London, Moscow, Wroclaw and in Iceland, a country with which she has started a collaboration since 2016
